Refund policy
Draft policy — subject to review by an Australian lawyer before launch.
What this policy covers
This policy covers optional featured-listing payments to [business name], not purchases of cars, parts or services from sellers. Ordinary listings are free. Featuring covers up to three listings under the featured-listing terms.
When a refund may be given
Contact us if you were charged twice, charged incorrectly, or paid for featuring that was not supplied. We will investigate and correct an incorrect charge, refund a duplicate payment, and provide the remedy required by Australian Consumer Law for a service failure. Depending on the failure, this may include restoring the service, a refund for an undelivered period, or a full refund where legally required.
When a refund is not normally given
Change of mind, a listing selling early, a seller hiding or deleting a listing, or fewer views, enquiries or sales than hoped do not normally qualify for a refund once featuring has begun. Daily rotation is part of the service and does not guarantee continuous display. Removal for a breach of the listing terms does not normally entitle you to a refund for unused time. These exclusions do not limit your legal rights.
Subscriptions and cancellation
Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically unless cancelled. Cancellation stops the next renewal; the paid term remains available until its end, subject to the listing remaining active and compliant. Cancellation alone does not normally result in a refund of the current paid term. If you believe a renewal was charged after you cancelled, send us the cancellation confirmation so we can investigate.
How to ask for a refund
Email [contact email] with your account email, payment receipt or reference, affected listing details, and the reason for your request. Do not send your full card number, security code or password. We will assess your request and explain the outcome. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method where possible; your payment provider determines when the funds appear.
Your consumer rights
Nothing in this draft excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. For a major service failure, you may have the right to cancel and obtain a refund, and to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss.
